Jump starts for flat batteries, emergency fuel delivery and spare wheel help in Liverpool and Merseyside. Call 24/7 with your postcode to confirm emergency availability before waiting for assistance.

How We Can Help at the Roadside

  • Battery Jump Starts

Left your lights on, or found your battery flat on a cold morning? We can attempt a suitable jump start for cars and small vans at home, at work or at the roadside, subject to vehicle suitability and availability. A successful start is not guaranteed.

  • Emergency Fuel Delivery

Run out of petrol or diesel? We can bring enough fuel to your location to get you to the nearest filling station.

  • Wrong Fuel Assistance

Put petrol in a diesel car, or diesel in a petrol car? Don't start the engine. We don't drain fuel at the roadside, but recovery to a specialist or garage for fuel removal is assessed separately, subject to safe loading, suitable access and availability.

  • Spare Wheel Assistance

Got a flat tyre and struggling to change it? If you have a usable spare wheel and the locking wheel nut key, we can fit it for you. If not, recovery to a tyre fitter or garage is assessed separately, subject to safe loading, suitable access and availability.

Car Won't Start? Battery Jump Start Service

A flat battery is one of the most common reasons a car won't start, especially in cold weather, after lots of short journeys, or when a car has been left unused for a while. Our jump-start service covers Liverpool and the surrounding areas, with visits at home, at work, in a car park or at the roadside subject to vehicle suitability, safe access and availability. Starting symptoms alone do not confirm a flat battery; other faults may require garage assessment or recovery.

If a jump start is suitable, we'll attempt to start the engine. If it starts, we'll talk you through what to do next. If it doesn't, or the problem looks more serious, we can separately assess suitability and availability for vehicle recovery to a garage instead.

Signs of a Flat Battery

  • โ€ข Clicking when you turn the key or press start
  • โ€ข Slow, laboured cranking
  • โ€ข Dim or flickering dashboard lights
  • โ€ข Central locking or electrics not responding

After a Jump Start

A suitable jump start may get the engine running, but it doesn't fix a battery that's worn out or a charging fault. If your battery keeps going flat, have the battery and charging system checked by a garage or battery specialist.

Hybrid & Stop-Start Vehicles

Many hybrid, electric and stop-start vehicles have a 12V battery that can go flat. Please tell us the make and model, so we can check whether a jump start is suitable before we arrive.

When Recovery May Be Needed Instead

Roadside assistance aims to help with a suitable jump start, fuel delivery or spare wheel fitting; recovery moves the vehicle to an agreed destination. Recovery jobs are offered around the clock, subject to job suitability and availability. Not every problem can be fixed at the roadside. We may recommend breakdown recovery if:

  • โœ“ The car still won't start after a jump start
  • โœ“ There's a mechanical fault, warning light, smoke or fluid leak
  • โœ“ The wrong fuel has been used
  • โœ“ There's no usable spare wheel or locking wheel nut key
  • โœ“ The vehicle is in an unsafe position to work on

Roadside Assistance FAQs

Can you jump start my car at home?

We can attempt a suitable jump start on your driveway, on the street, in a car park or at work, subject to vehicle suitability, safe access and availability. We cannot guarantee the vehicle will start.

Will a jump start fix my battery?

No. A suitable jump-start attempt may start the engine, but it does not repair a failing battery or charging fault. Follow the guidance under After a Jump Start above.

What if my car still won't start?

If a suitable jump-start attempt is unsuccessful, or another fault is suspected, a recovery job to a garage or your home may be needed. This is assessed separately, subject to suitability and availability. See our car recovery service.

I've put the wrong fuel in. What should I do?

Don't start the engine, or turn it off as soon as it's safe. Starting it can circulate the wrong fuel through the system. Call us so we can separately assess recovery to a specialist or garage, subject to safe loading, suitable access and availability.

Can you change a flat tyre?

We can fit your spare wheel if you have a usable spare and the locking wheel nut key, where one is needed. If you only have a tyre repair kit or no spare, recovery to a tyre fitter is assessed separately, subject to safe loading, suitable access and availability.
